Install all New VLC 1.0 in Ubuntu Jaunty, Intrepid, Hardy

Much awaited VLC 1.0, codenamed Goldeneye, is finally released. VLC is arguably the best open source multimedia player you could get. VLC supports almost all kind of media content out there and the sheer size of feature list will blow you away. You may want to check this out.

Adding GPG Key before installtion
- Simpy run the follwing command inside terminal.
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 7613768D
- Done!
Adding New Repository
- Now add the repository address according to the version of Ubuntu you use.
- Goto System > Administration > Software Sources > Third-Party Software tab and Click ADD. And add repo of your choice.
For Ubuntu Jaunty

Installation
- To prevent any conflicts with the existing installation, it is highly recommended to remove already installed version of VLC, if any.
sudo apt-get remove vlc vlc-nox vlc-data
- Now install VLC. You can install it from synaptic also if you like.
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-nox vlc-data

Update: Attention Hardy users, i am sorry to inform you that, using the above repo you could only upgrade to VLC 0.9.9.
